I am a married mum of 6, and working night shifts in the NHS. I’m always busy, when I’m not in work I’m running the children to different activities.

Over the past 18 months I’ve lost weight and started at a gym and love it, so I’ve started to feel a bit more confident in my own skin and thought I would do something for myself for a change.

I was a little nervous at first but was made to feel very comfortable very quickly. It was the best experience and I didn’t want the shoot to end.

I walked out of the studio smiling and confident, I think I smiled the whole drive home. I was so happy I got out of my comfort zone and decided to do it. Wow just wow, I went in thinking I’d hopefully like one or two, but I loved every picture.

I am much more confident about my body since I lost some weight and seeing it on the photos made me feel so sexy, it’s given me an inner strength and glow I didn’t know I had.

Just go for it, you’ll love the experience and wonder why you’d not done it sooner.

My name is Doina, and I am originally from the Republic of Moldova.

Currently, I live in Manchester, where I have made my home for the past eleven years. I am a mom to the most amazing little boy, He is my everything.

He is not just smart, he lights up every room he enters and loves with a kindness that’s overwhelming. Being his mother is the greatest role of my life.

I felt nervous before coming in, but once I got in the studio with the team the nerves started to settle. Abby Rose the makeup artist did my hair and makeup, she did a stunning job on both parts. Listened to what I wanted and managed to make me look amazing.

Susan the photographer was incredible. She just knows how to put you in the mood for this type of experience. Came with loads of pose ideas, made me feel very comfortable, beautiful and confident AF!

"I don't criticise myself as much as I did before"

I was really nervous and self-conscious! I put on a lot of weight since giving up smoking and having my babies and have really struggled to lose it. The thought of my wobbly belly on display was harrowing but that’s the mindset I needed to change.

After the photoshoot at Veloura I felt like another person! I don’t normally wear makeup so I felt really glamorous. The makeup artists are brilliant at what they do and so lovely.

It was a lot of fun and despite not wearing much the photographers are really amazing at making you feel comfortable. They’re so good at positioning you so that you feel comfortable and sexy! They make you feel like a film star.

I felt amazing! I had so much more confidence.

I was blown away. Suddenly I saw myself through my husbands’ eyes instead of my own and that was a gift! I looked and felt sexy whereas before I just felt like a frumpy old mum.

I have much more confidence and I don’t criticise myself as much as I did before. I feel more empowered and make bolder choices.

Having babies changed my body beyond recognition. I wanted to feel confident about those changes and see them in a positive way and remind myself how incredible my body is for doing that. It’s worth celebrating!
